How to Choose WAGO Equivalent 260 Series Cage Clamp Terminal Blocks

When purchasing alternative DIN rail terminal blocks to replace original WAGO 260 series products, many electrical equipment manufacturers and distributors do not know the key selection standards. Wrong specifications will lead to installation mismatch, poor conductivity and hidden safety hazards. This article sorts out 4 core selection points for reference.
  1. Confirm wire range and electrical parameters

All 260 series terminals are designed for 0.08~1.5mm² wires, rated 18A/400V IEC and 10A/300V UL.

  2. Select wiring ports as per circuit demand
  • 260-301 2-wire: Simple single in single out, suitable for single signal circuit
  • 260-331/334/337 4-wire: Two in two out parallel connection, used for multi-wire shunting inside cabinets to reduce messy branch boxes
  1. Color classification for circuit safety identification

International standard color rule must be followed: grey for ordinary control lines, blue for neutral wire, yellow-green for protective ground wire. Mixing colors will fail electrical safety inspection.

  2. Check installation and certification requirements

Standard 8mm width fits 35mm DIN rail; flange hole reserved for panel fixed mounting. For export to EU and USA, confirm products carry CE, UL and ROHS certificates to avoid customs clearance problems.
